Railway infrastructure

In North America, the vast majority of all railway bridge reinforcement consists of composite bars. This is due to their lightness and durability, but also resistance to external conditions. Thanks to this, the composite functions in concrete much longer than steel.

Due to the absolute lack of corrosion, there is no need to replace the material with a new one, which reduces the costs of possible maintenance and repair work.

A huge added value is the great ease of removing the bars as part of the facility’s disposal – unlike steel, conventional concrete shredders can be used.

Railway infrastructure elements that can be reinforced with ComRebars composite bars include:

  • Bridges
  • Tunnels
  • Control elements of track systems (no stray currents)
  • Tram and railway panels
  • Train tracks underlay
  • Prefabricated elements for stops and stations
